ALAN GRIFFIN

Alan brings over 35 years of experience in Government, Politics and Public Policy to the ACG team. He is considered one of Australia’s leading experts on public opinion, political strategy and public policy advocacy. 

 

He provides counsel to state and federal politicians and public and private organisations across Australia. Alan served as a Federal Member of Parliament for 23 years, prior to that he was an elected member in local government and worked as a ministerial adviser within both State and Federal administrations.   

 

During his time in elected office, Alan gained a reputation for being an astute political strategist and made considerable contributions to public policy in Australia through the various positions he held in the Australian parliament. Some of these roles were in the areas of Treasury, Finance, Small Business, Health, Consumer Affairs, Sport and Recreation as well as Veterans Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Defence. 

 

He has served as the Minister for Veterans Affairs and Defence Personnel as well as Cabinet Secretary and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister.

 

Since his retirement from the Australian Parliament in 2016, Alan has continued to work with organizations across the Asia Pacific on public policy and regulatory matters. He also serves on a number of boards and is actively involved in community initiatives.
